For Michael gardening is a passion. His interest began a few years ago after he sustained a brain injury. Looking for something to help rebuild his life he joined Get Going, our garden project aiming to use gardens to improve quality of life. He has since become a volunteer and now helps to support other members of the project. 'I thoroughly enjoy gardening and since becoming a volunteer I have been able to teach other members what I have learnt. I have met lots of friends and get out of the house more as a result of being part of the project.”
Summer is a time to enjoy the outdoors which is why residents at Taylor House in Belfast would love some new garden furniture and a barbeque they can use this summer. Being able to have meals outside and enjoy a British summer would be of a great treat to our residents.
What better way to stimulate the mind and senses than being able to be in the fresh air. We would like to re-design the grounds of our Supported Living service in Lurgan, with the aim of giving each flat their own individual gardens. This would give residents a space of their own to grow what they like.
We need your help to support ‘Get Going’ - a garden project in Omagh, aiming to use gardens to improve the quality of life of disabled people. Essential garden equipment is needed to make the project a success and so we are asking for your help.
